We pride ourselves on our staff retention and many of our staff team are long established with us. It is our Policy to only recruit Level 3 or above Nursery Nurses, or new recruits to our Apprenticeship Scheme who will then achieve a full Level 3 Qualification. We aim to employ 75% of staff who hold a qualification at Level 3 or above, and the remaining 25% will be studying towards achieving this, some of this 25% will have already have achieved a Level 2 Qualification. 


Our Management team are trained assessors and we recruit apprentices who train with us to achieve a formal qualification before taking up a Key Practitioner role, we find this to be much more rewarding than a desk based method as our more junior staff develop the theory and the hands on experience needed to blossom into wonderful Qualified Nursery Nurses. For our Qualified Team Members we look to encourage career progression in-house, each room has a Room Leader, who has a wealth of experience and knowledge. We believe that fresh ideas and suggestions combined with mature experience and knowledge gives our children the best start in life. 

We employ predominantly women, of a child bearing age, who love children so we expect a certain amount of change as our staff members family circumstances alter. Having said that we are very keen to support working parents, we have a very supportive Maternity Policy and welcome the fact that many of our staff team are understanding parents themselves. 

Our Training Policy combines formal childcare training, with in-house refresher courses, and external specialist short courses in areas such as Nutrition, Equality and Inclusion, and formal qualifications in Team Leading and Management. We endeavour to ensure that every member of our team holds a valid 12 hour Paediatric Emergency Aid certificate rather than the required 1 person.

We encourage team building both in and out of the work places, and alternative incentives such as “Cheers Bud”, “Colleague of the month” and “Special Thanks” on our Staff Newsletters. At the end of each year we hold Annual Christmas Party and Pride Awards for our staff team. We give out awards and prizes and round off the evening with a much anticipated ‘Team Challenge’. We also enjoy an annual team trip to the races.

Role:  Fully Qualified Childcare Practitioner/Nursery Nurse

Site: Alwoodley (LS17), Bramley (LS13), Farfield (LS28), Armley (LS12)

Hours: 30 or 40 hours per week (possibility of term-time only)

Requirements: Relevant Childcare Qualification and Supervisory Experience

Details: The position is for a Fully Qualified (Level 3 or above) Key Person. Previous experience required.

Role: Nursery Manager  

Site: Armley (LS12), Heckmondwike (WF16)

Hours: 40 Hours per week between Mon-Fri 7.30am-6pm

Details: The position is for a Qualified Manager (you should be qualified to Level 4 or above) with previous experience in a management position.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Ability to record and pass on information accurately, effectively and concisely between management, staff, parents and children
  • Ability to delegate, coach and mentor staff team
  • Ability to co-operate with others both formally and informally and to work as a team member

Role: Apprentice Nursery Nurse

Site: Alwoodley (LS17), Farfield (LS28), Bramley (LS13), Armley (LS12)

Hours: 40 Hours Mon-Fri falling between 7.30am-6pm

Details: The position is for a candidate who is wanting to achieve a NVQ Level 2, in Children and Young People's Workforce, with potential to progress to the Early Years Educator Level 3 Qualification.

We will consider a Level 2 qualified candidate who is wanting to achieve the Early Years Educator Level 3 on the Apprentice.

Candidates are required to complete Functional Skills in Maths, English and IT, unless you already have a GCSE Grade C or above.

Role: Playworker

Site: Alwoodley (LS17), Heckmondwike (WF16)

Hours: Part time 22.5 hours per week, 7.30-9am and 3-6pm Mon-Fri. Term-time. Full Time may be available in the holidays.

Details: Childcare qualification is preferred but not necessary, experience of working with children is essential.
